the great romance

sometimes
i am overwhelmed
by the simplest things

a cloud

drifts across my line of vision
and somehow
in its passing
between two trees
i feel the deepest sense
of hope
for this planet

a belief
that this will always be

that rain will fall
that trees will grow

that the great romance
between earth
and sky
that alludes in part
to the deeper love
contained
in the allness of everything

will be available
forever
and always

Let's all do our best to make it so.

The colours here, Steven, the blue of the sky, the green trees and white of the clouds are crystal clear and enervating. Thanks for the reminder, as if we need it, that nature is beautiful.

It's nice to know you're helping another generation, your classes, appreciate what we have and how to protect it.

You have captured the magical properties of clouds against a blue sky / green trees perfectly ~ with words and an image.

It will endure though humans may not always be here to see it.

That's no ordinary cloud - that is an angel. No wonder you were filled with hope. A job well done by that angel.

reya - i love clouds, and you've been dropping in here long enough to know that but this was not just a beautiful cloud. it had something else about it and while i know that on one level it is a conglomeration of water droplets formed around little bits of dust, i also know there was much more there - as there is to everything in nature. steven

hello joanny and welcome! thankyou for your very generous comment. i love to write and share the images of what i see. in my own understanding of my self in this world, i own none of it. i'm glad that it is here to share. steven

ellen - i often wonder at what point we'll leave and then how this world will adapt to our absence. we are a part of it after all! steven

hi hope! i do what i can. it's interesting that the kids i work with actually have a less developed sense of what they need to be doing specifically to care for the environment than the kids ten years ago. strange eh! steven

steven said...

hey aleks! i hope that the children learn from all that we have done and then learn from what we wish and especially from what we see and know and feel and believe. steven

steven said...

elisabeth - you've probably had those experiences yourself. something enters your consciousness and you know that there's someting being said. something that needs you to share it. that's what happened here. steven

steven said...

bonnie - i look around me and listen and see a world that is slowly, oh so slowly becoming aware of its responsibilities to itself. it's not a matter of a lifetime. it's a matter of allowing everything to happen as it should. steven
