You are probably such a good teacher you can even help them learn the joy of getting wet. It will enrich their lives and enliven your parent-teach meetings!

And the problem with that is?

Getting wet when it rains is part of living.

Enjoy the rain Steven, and so will I.

hi lorenzo - my ambition as a teacher is to become "good" before i retire. i'm working on it!!! steven

hi barry - oh there's no problem. i love riding or walking in the rain. i always have! i credit my birth in manchester, england (a city that knows about rain) with my affection for the wet stuff. my boys love to chirp me whenever they can and they still haven't got their heads around the idea that weather is beyond our control and actually can be nice even if it isn't sunny and blue skies! have a lovely day. steven

Oh yeah! Drenched, looks like.

Drenched is one thing. Cold and drenched is another. How long did it take you to dry off and warm up? I'm sure you were laughing as you rode through the downpour.

willow absolutely! the beauty of it is that at this stage of the year it's a fairly warm rain and there's the reflections in the puddles and of course getting home - to warm dry clothes!!! steven

hey brian! really i don't mind it at all. the only rain i've experienced that i honestly didn't like was one time when i rode through freezing rain and it actually froze to my body - seriously! when i got off the bike the ice fell off me in little sheets! steven

hey reya - in a word!
i've invested in some gore-tex stuff in the last month that i've not tried out in the rain yet but my other stuff was fairly basic and so every inch of me was getting soaked. once you're wet though it's not that bad. it's that first splash, the first trickle down your tummy . . . . steven

hope - another positive feature of a good rainstorm - laundry, shower all in one!!! steven

hey meri - yeah cold and drenched is not one of my favourites but when it's a spring rain or a summer rain well it makes me smile. i laugh when i put the front wheel out the door and the first spots of rain appear on the pavement. that makes me laugh 'cause then i know that someone with a sense of humour is flicking the switch on the rain-machine! steven

Could you send some of that rain over here steven - we are getting desperate! Have been away but it is nice to be back in blogland.

"uh oh- your going to get wet! ON PURPOSE!" is what my cat thinks in astonished horror every time I get in the shower- some creatures don't like wet...Cats and boys. We live in "wet" up here. Would rather be wet than dried out...

After 30 years in the classroom, I'm still a beginner. There's no end to the art of teaching. No end.

hello weaver! it's so great to see you up and about again. i really hope the back problem is gone or at least manageable. this story featured here is about a week and a half ago so we've had no rain since - the odd promise but nothing has materialized. right now it's very hot - thirty five celsius with the humidity. stay cool! steven

steven said...

hey linda sue - mmm hmmm my brother lives in vancouver and tells me aboput the rain and the fog and the cool and i know that south of him it's even more the rainy wet stuff. i really love it. some days more than sun. but it's all about balance and i'd need some of the bright stuff to fuel the rest of my joy. steven

steven said...

dan that's it in a nutshell!! i want to leave still trying to figure it all out!! steven
