cloud mothers

the sky is softening

there's a thickness to the light

closer to the ground

ice gathers
into hovering lace sheets
that melt into songs
and poems
telling the stories of their
cloud mothers

Brian at one stop poetry says we should write about spring things and dance like happy green clovers but your ice and cloud poem is too beautiful to not be written, march can wait for your green poems :)

shaista!! hello! i see brian's perspctive while walking through, seeing, hearing, smelling and feeling the very much still-present presence of winter! it'll be weeks or even a month or so before any green makes its presence felt here. i'm alright with that! steven

Yes, the cloud mothers making lace to spread out on the ground...how perfect.

I have the image of my aunt and mother sitting together "tatting" lace when I was a child. It looked very like the delicate ice in your photos.
