seen

i cycled along a country road. everything was strangely and beautifully quiet. a large monarch butterfly, flew next to me for a while. the road passed by shadowed and damp woods and fields dotted with white cows.

suddenly, there was colour.

it began with this.

with the immediacy
of its appearance
how could it not
bring me so sharply into the moment
that i blinked
with the suddenness of it
and had to turn back
to see it again
to be sure
of it

I looks like a wheel on fire! It is in motion- oh yes! Fall is falling...hard!

A red halo, no less...and I do believe there is a green angel below it.♥

love the way your words form a focused arrow - that points to a focus - isn't it fun to be yanked into the moment?

My head is overfull of green; I look forward to a glimpse of the other colors.

It starts like that, doesn't it... one hint. Then, it seems, the very next day the hills and valleys are burning with color, and I wonder how it appeared so suddenly!

Flowers? Leaves? I couldn't tell, couldn't decide. I'd have had to walk up close to see.

It is these little surprises that enchant at this time of the year Steven.
