so late

oh my little golden friend
how brave to appear
so late in the summer
when the nights are so chill

your children will give me purpose
and cause to remember you
when i walk through my gardens next year

Steven, that's how I feel when I watch the last rose persevering, no, defying, the frost! Lovely pic; colour I'm waiting for, here in Oz.

Beautiful but deadly, put her children in your salads next year, we used to cultivate dandelions as a salad crop I believe. Before they tried to take over the world.

Vibrant steven - we are very grey here today. And love what's expressed in the final three lines.

I love this. I have a plot where I grow fruit and vegetables. Sometimes I go there and find the whole place is covered in these little suns!

I am a flower. Hath not a flower petals? Hath not a flower leaves,
pollen, dimensions, stem, roots, color; fed with the same
food, hurt with the same poison, subject to the same diseases,
heal'd by the same means, warm'd and cool'd by the same winter
and summer, as a rose is?

Your photo is a burst of sunshine.

-my apologies to Mr. Shakespeare

I saw a dandelion too today, as well as a dandelion clock. They are such golden treasures in the meadows.

And as Autumn supposedly arrives tonight, here it is still 90+ degrees daily. [That's 32 C for some of you]
