reeds of innocence

and i pluck'd a hollow reed,

and i made a rural pen,
and i stain'd the water clear,
and i wrote my happy songs
every child may joy to hear

(excerpted from "reeds of innocence") by william blake

This image is like a painting, so intense in its colour and majesty. You are such a wonderful photographer.

Hi Steven, I came to you from Reya. We have reeds here at our lake, too. Some houses are being thatched with them. I love that poem, and I LOVE your header photo. Wow!

Ah yes, William Blake - he knew a thing or two, didn't he, steven? Hope your new term is going well.

elisabeth thankyou very much. i've noticed that i see scenery as if i was painting it. the way i frame it and especially what makes up the scenery itself. i only paint in abstract so i don't know what that's all about! steven

angela welcome!! i am glad that you visited from reya's - she has the very best community of people!!! i've seen thatched roofs but not reed roofs. that's really cool - actually when i think about it i've also seen bullrush roofs which are almost reed roofs. steven

titus - i'm really lucky! these were taken with my smaller cheaper camera. but it was an amazing day - clear air with a wicked sky and equally gobsmacking still water. i'm glad we could share it!! steven
