lee stoetzel, who hails from florida but now works out of pennsylvania is making a name for himself as a wood sculptor. what makes his work unique is his rendering of large scale replicas of objects around him in his daily life such as computers, bicycles, and two and four-wheeled vehicles using a beautifully textured wood named mesquite that travelled with him from florida. mesquite is a very hard wood and so possesses the property of strength, but it is more commonly used as a flavouring in barbeques.
