something in the corner
in the light the shadow's left -
a movement
a shifting
i can't look directly at it
because it will not be there
if i do
and so i glance
sideways
hoping
to catch it unawares
for surely
in its organized
and furtive clustering
i will learn a secret
i will see
what is not meant to be seen
which is i believe
why
i am here

Very true! I can really relate to this. You kept me in a 'shall I look, or shant I' feeling all the way through.
... "and which is, I believe, why I keep coming back to this blog again and again"
is there a band of misfits (the lucky ones) that sense this? what might it look like if said band took to the road in a van? i laugh to think.
just off center. just off center. don't look. it's there! just off center.

Heading off into my morning with the echo of this....
It's the looking, not the seeing, hey?
layer upon layer upon layer - and you have such a delicate way of pushing through them
It is an enigma, then, isn't it? To know that to focus keenly on something means we're destined not to see it?
Only by simply being will we "see that which is not meant to be seen."
So beautifully put.
hmmm this certainly describes my marriage...
"You need to go back to the old Blogger interface to turn off word verification. From the new Blogger dashboard page, click the gear symbol under your profile picture and select "Old Blogger interface." On the old dashboard page, click on "Settings" then click on the "Comments" link below the tabs. That will get you to where you can unselect word verification. Click "Save Settings" at the bottom of that page when you are done. there is a link in the upper right hand corner of the old dashboard page so you can get back to the new interface. I hope this helps."
