forms emerging

isaak levitan the moon at twilight

the pale echoes
of the passing day
rain upwards
as shadows rise to light
the dance and the dancers
turn the music inwards
into a single slender thread
comprising
the singular
thoughts
of a man
under moonlight

The moon is lovely tonight. It's funny because as I came out of Home Depot tonight I looked up and wondered how many others are looking at the moon tonight.

lilith - all over the world people see that same little world passing by. the variety of their experiencing is staggering and reminding of the extraordinary fact of being human, animal, plant . . . . steven

Thanks. Reading this, I was able to breathe a little deeper.

In spring it always feels to me like the green world is reaching up to the sky, raining upwards as you say.

Happy Sunday, Steven!

The shape that poem takes is so evocative of the words! Beautiful...

steven, moonlight is confidant of the man, separated by one imaginary line of mutual understanding.
