falling with the rain

i'm looking through windows running with rain

and thinking thoughts
up above the world so high
where silver rain feathers are gathering
before drifting earthwards

into the slender green arms and fingers
of trees and plants reaching upwards in welcome

somewhere near the earth
the white cherry blossom clouds
soften and melt
like candy floss
in the mouth of my eyes

"...melt like candy floss
in the mouth of my eyes" is exquisite. Lots of lovely rain in my neck of the woods, as well.

tess - we've been watching and walking and riding and whatever elsing in the rain for a few days now and it will continue. no problem to me at all - i love the rain as much as i love the sun. steven

I adore the rain, too. Had to come back and tell you how much I like your uber-cool new avatar pic!

tess thanks. my son found a leaf that had wintered in the garage. he knew i'd put it with one of my little found object shrines around the house. it had lost almost all of its body but for the stem and veins. i wondered what i would look like through the film of its body and here it is. steven

steven, raindrops give magic to the gray days. Somewhere near the earth, the white leads us to dream with candy floss. I loved your poem!

Steven, I love how you expressed the journey of the rain and the expectations of the plants below. Silver rain feathers paints a perfect wispy image in my mind. Nice pics and poem.

So glad to feel the way reluctant spring has arrived at last, welcomed so reverently by the leaves and blossoms.

LOVE the new avatar.

lilith - the rain, the cherry tree - my most favourite tree of all - and the window running the blossoms soft and melting . . . it was a gift handed to me to hand back to you. steven

oa.s, my body wriggles with joy on rainy days - really it does. my mind - wriggles with the possibilities. i have no explanation . . . do i need one?!! steven

ellen - we have had lots of rain and i wish some for your dry and aching land. steven

ruchard jesse watson - thankyou. i saw the silver rain feathers in my mind as i travelled into the sky and imagined them drifting downwards and assuming their water droplet form just in time to melt the cherry blossoms. steven

jo this spring has been a gradual and gentle return. cooler rainier temperatures have allowed for a gradual return that is a bit like a slow meal - it allows you time to talk and watch and really savour every taste. thankyou for your kind comment about the little self-image. steven

Lovely, steven, you can even make the rain sound appealing.

steven, i think that we don't need explanation to feel...just feel.

oa.s, the challenge is to allow explanation to braid with feeling such that the expression of their intertwining carries the understanding. steven
