equal to nothingness

i do not know
what a human being must do.
i do not know
what a human being should try to get.
i think
that a human being can become part of nature.
i am feeling
that a human being is great because he is equal to
nothingness.
oh i am shaken,
how hopeful to be equal to nothingness!

Deep thoughts this morning, my friend. Evocative image. Beautiful.

I heard today on the radio that a well known Australian historian, Manning Clarke mentioned to the media that he held onto a 'shy hope' for the possibility of an after life, before he died.

I thought of these two words reading here - the notion of a 'shy hope'. Thanks, Steven.

hey willow - i sure like takamura's words. the beautiful blue-grey rocks were a real treat to find in the middle of the woods. they leapt - in a gentle way - at my eyes. steven

Hello Steven

While I am not writing much these days I do pop by and read now and then. This I love...
What an antithesis to the Great Dream of acquisition...in its various cloaks.

thank you
Happy days

I think we are definitely part of nature. Certainly we are not supernatural, or subnatural for that matter. I guess that's nothingness!

My first teacher in Buddhism told me it was his ambition to: "Leave no trace."

Ah, but he left some traces.

Many people loved him and when he died, now long ago, many missed him. And miss him still.
