graphic by design

today's post could well have been titled numbers and letters by design because that's really what it's about but i thought that i'd stuff it under one big graphic umbrella instead!

jesson yip has developed a really lovely clock that you can download to your desktop. simply named “analogy” its creator describes it as “a typographic clock which fuses the immediacy of digital with the visual-spatial quality of analogue into a hybrid format”. it is such a simple design but the effect is mesmerizing and attractive. want to look foryourself? then go right here! when you get there you'll see that you can in fact download it for either windows or for us beautiful mac people!

similarly simple and clever is a product coming out of little factory. little factory started out as a design website focussing on pixel graphics but it looks like that has got a little loose on them much to our great fortune. now little factory finds itself manufacturing scarves and blankets, and not just any old scarves and blankets but very reasonably priced beautifully designed objects. here are some personal favourites ; the rain blanket . . . .
the goldfish blanket (of course!) . . .
the number scarf . . . .
the uppercase scarf . . . .
and the lowercase scarf . . . .

can’t live without them? then you need to visit the little factory shop.
now i wonder if they’d consider a scarf made out of a person’s name? or what about a favourite poem? a paragraph from a book?
