i was cruising through the tokyo flash website to see what’s happening in the watch department and came across this interesting item that reminds me of a similar sort of idea from yasmin sethi featured here on july 11th. the shinshoku bracelet model features a matrix of punched out holes with twenty-nine super bright leds beneath the surface which illuminate to represent the time.
there are two models available; one comes with a clear strap with multi-colored leds and the other with a black strap with multi-colored leds.
to find out what time it is, a single touch of the upper button animates the leds which then cascade across the band representing the time. pressing the lower button skips this colourful animation and presents the time immediately.
twelve red leds indicate the hour, three green leds indicate 15, 30 and 45 minutes past the hour and fourteen yellow leds indicate single minutes.
if you look carefully, you can see the subtle etched markings on the strap that allow you to distinguish easily between hours and minutes.
so cool and lovely!
