chipping and digging and scraping at the walls and floors and ceiling of the internet often reveals tremendously exciting treasures and today is no exception. what you are about to see is not only clever but will leave you gob-smacked when you step away and wonder “how did he do that?”, “how long would that have taken to do?” and then again “how did he do that?”
wall animation is something entirely new to me and obviously requires a lot of paint, time, creativity, and i would guess cooperation from the various parties undoubtedly involved. each “frame” carefully painted on the wall, ceiling, floor and then just as carefully painted over before the next frame is painted and so on and so on.....
here, have a look . . .
MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU from blu on Vimeo.
do you see what i mean?!!
if this has left you wondering about the artist then you should take a wander over to blu’s website which is itself a work of art. when it opens, a sketch-note book is revealed. scrolling over the book opens the cover ever so slightly at which time you click on the slightly revealed first page and the cover opens to reveal a tabbed menu from which you can navigate through blu’s various projects both old and current and projected. clicking on the “video” link takes you to some of blu’s other projects.
