i saw the sun
setting
its rays
flying upwards
in a rose-coloured plume
so i ran
to the edge of the fields
where the last petals of light
kissed the sky
the air was thin and cold
the trees
tall and silent
the fence line
hummed
across the fields
i heard
"i promise i'll return"

Sumptuous sunset photography! Thanks!
I will try to pluck a few words out of my head...but really there are no words. Another post that leaves me wordless. Such Beauty! Big Sky!! Be still my heart at the statement "I promise I'll return." So lovely!!!!!
Thank you, Steven. I needed to hear these exact words. How did you know?
That first photo is incredibly beutiful. It has overtones of a Tuner landscape, - but more in focus!
What ethereal images - magical.
I hope the new year brings you and your family all the happiness in the world.
I have enjoyed discovering your blog in 2009 and look forward to reading more in the New Year, with all good wishes, Valerie.
Steven - thanks for braving the cold and 'running' to capture these beautiful shots. What we bloggers do for each other!!!!
Steven - thank you for always finding the beauty that surrounds us. All best wishes to you and your family for a new year of health and happiness.
hello dan - i live about one hundred metres from the edge of a farmer's field that i like to walk in. the view is superb across a huge pond, some distant woods and then hills. i like to watch sunsets there. the colours are heart-filling, especially at this time of year when colour is reduced to the grey scale. have a lovely last day of this year! steven
hello jenny - i heard those words in my head as i took the photographs. i couldn't place the voice so i just listened. have a peaceful last day of this year. steven
kathleen there's a quality of serendipity and also synchronicity about this area of the bloggiverse that leaves me breathless at times. i'm not sure what it is but there's something to it. have a lovely last day of this year! steven
jinksy thankyou very much . . . i love that the fence line recedes into the woods. the sunset was especially clear in that image. letting more light in! i love light. have a lovely last day of this year. steven

Beautiful photos [as always] and yet what stuck with me was the fence line humming...I could actually hear it. Such an oddly musical sound, like no other.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful 2010!
The end is the beginning.
Kiss your sky for me.
Warmest, woolly wishes for a wonderful 2010, to you and yours, Steven~! xx
