goldenrod!! i'm surprised at you!!!!! actually i should mention why in the dead of "winter" with snow flying and icy roads, i'd bother to mention a summer pest. every so often one of these rotten little buzzing critters appears in this house and receives a terminal spanking. my question is, where on earth are they coming from? what are they surviving on? me?!!
thanks for dropping by!

You've probably got some standing water somewhere in your house, Steven, that they're coming from. One of those videos described the life cycle of a mosquito, and one of the stages lasts five weeks!! Love your 'terminal spanking' phrase. What an apt sendoff for such an annoying pest!!

They don't usually bother me except for every once in a while. I'm a blond, too, which goes contrary to the statistics. And then they talked about stinky feet - laughed out loud at that one where the fan was blowing directly on this person's stinky foot and the mosquito was trying his darndest to hang on and get a good suck going but failed - I concluded that I must not have very stinky feet. :)

i loved the final scene after the poor little fella snaffled back some hot pepper and rocketed off into the nether regions of our atmosphere. i know that i get bitten less than most. my wife is a target and gets lovely swollen bits wherever they extract the hemoglobin. the bugs will literally fly past me to get at her! that's life!!

Yeah, that last scene is great - that whole video is a whole lot of fun! Those last few clips are all of places he has visited before, and at first I think, "What the devil! Is he trying to commit suicide?" And then I realized that he was really trying to go to the moon - did you notice the loop he made mid-flight? I think he was having an absolute 'blast'.

oh san i forgot about the mosquito! it's so good. this summer we've been lucky so far with very few mosquitoes. they come out at about nine o'clock at night and so we light a smoky fire outside or come in. all the windows have mosquito netting on so they can't come and suck our lives away from us!!! have a lovely day. steven
