ice forms

on a cold cold day my forsythia
finds itself decorated
with the most fragile of winter jewellery

a small pendant

and a bony brooch

while closer to the ground
the ice man dances

an ancient ice fish blunders into me
and then passes by

Cold beauty, Steven. Your powers of observation and ability to capture such beauty on film is amazing. Thanks.

That second image - wow. Well, all of them really. Ice is alive (I think of glaciers that grow and calf ...) Willow's pics of ice leaves on her windows the other day were also wow-ish.

What I love about ice is that it slows everything down. I love slow.

Love ice. Love you. x

elisabeth i really like getting in very close to ice forms because there is so much going on inside them. light changes, there's trapped air, little bits of dust and twigs. like little worlds. steven

reya - ice is like a great breathing in of water, slow and calm. holding its place. bring in the light and it returns to waterspeed. thanks for the love!!! steven

What an amazing eye for beauty you have steven! I think the last two photos of the 'ancient fish' would look good on your header under the title of your blog!

I knew you were good but these prove to me that you are one ice master as it seems ice is really your element,if you are able so masterly and with this kind of poetry in visual form to express your self ...
what a wonderful fairytale Steven....

Never has ice seemed so magical than when you capture it with your camera. :)
