thankyou

an especially pensive shot of myself under a lowering sky with a good wind blowing in my face
from the ocean, and a lighthouse behind me - can life be sweeter!

hello!

between the africycle ride and a family holiday to prince edward island i've not been around very much through july, so many of your comments have been posted here and not responded to.
i value comments and feel it's appropriate to respond when you share a thought.

so i'll thankyou now for all the wonderful, kind and insightful thoughts you've left on my blogs.

it looks like i'll be around a bit more through august. there's a garden that needs care. schoolwork to prepare, friends who deserve attention and of course
a stack of really good books and films that need me to bring them to life!!!
thanks for visiting.

steven

You did 31 posts in July!!! It seems you've been around. Maybe steven is actually a team of blogging elves who sneak in from the woods at night and spin their magic on your computer while you're away?

thankyou ellen. i love being home - i am a real home boy - but these two journeys have been among the very best i've taken in many years and so i am grateful to have been able to take them. steven

dan through a clever manipulation of the time-space continuum effected through the golden fish wormhole portal i shifted the contents of this blog into a parallel universe where my doppelganger parallel took care of business while i was off galavanting around the globe. it's very effective and makes for great inter-universe relationships! steven

Consider us even as I've been reading more than commenting this month. :)

Perhaps August will be kinder to both of us.

Tend to your garden as you always do,
with care.

How was the bike traveling? I can't believe you headed out for a vacation right after the long bike ride. You are full of energy.

Hi Steven, We felt your warm presence through your posts and photographs! I like your comment about having films and books to bring to life- it's a great way to remember that none of it can "live" without a reader or a viewer. I'm glad your time away was renewing, and that you are happy to be home.

hey technobabe - wanna know about the 1100 km ride then go over to my cycling blog - linked on my page by a picture of me riding. the holiday down in prince edward island was bike free. so i walked 10 km every day through the countryside which was just as beautiful. really it was amazing! steven

helen thanks for that!!! i always worry - as i'm sure most bloggers do - about the pictures i put up of myself. they're so much like tape recordings of voices - they never match what we think of ourselves do they!! steven

hi annie, thanks for the thoughtful comment. i saw so many beautiful sights and met some really lovely people also. i had a vision of the next stage of my life so clearly. now to make it become. steven

hi kay! well there's something about the responsibility of the small piece of the earth that's nominally "mine" that motivates me - oh and also the observations of people who make comments like "the garden's really filled in" which means it's overgrown in a bad way!!! i can live with overgrown but i'm still living in a place that doesn't accept that so.......... steven
