meme - a transformative moment

hello golden fish readers and visitors.

i'm hoping that you're in a flexible and accommodating frame of mind today because i'm proposing a meme.

so here's the meme.

a transformative moment.

share an experience that you knew in that moment - or on reflection - changed you.

really changed you.

now i know, there are so many to choose from.
some ugly. some beautiful.
but choose one.
a moment beyond other moments.

~

you've got lots and lots of time to think.
to dwell. to remember. to forget. to replace. to add to. to take away from.

august 19 is the day to share.

let me know if you can share a transformative moment and on the 19th,
i'll post a link to your posting from here so we can all visit each other!

thanks.
i can't wait!!!!

Count me in Steven. So many moments to choose from . . . . hmmmm . . . I am having minor surgery on the 19th, so will try to prepare it beforehand, and maybe post late on the 18th. Lovely idea - will be great to read about everyone's transformative moment.

Actually I already did a post on that most transformative moment in my life. It's chapter 1 The Path, of my 'becoming a glass artist' series, posted back in February.

hi bonnie - thans so much for making time for this given your more pressing concern at that time!! i'm looking forward to reading what people have to share!!! have a peaceful day. steven

How fun Steven. I'll really have to put on my thinking cap for this one. I'll let you know if I come up with something.
Have a lovely Monday. Lizzy :-)

hi lizzy, i'm glad you can come along!!! i bet that once you think of something, there'll be more and then you'll have to decide which one is the big one!! i was wrestling through a few ideas in my head this morning as i raced through the humidity fogged countryside on my bike. have a peaceful day. steven

I hope this works. It sounds interesting. A transformative moment might be hard for me since all of my moments have been transformative. I would guess it might be somebody I met. I will have to think about this one. Mine are all ideas or people or both.

hi abe, thanks for dropping by!! i hope it works as well. i agree - i thought about how each moment changes a person - but i'm thinking of something that perhaps steps beyond the flow of moments. something that you look back on as a turning point or a change agent in some way that has affected you in a big way. we'll see how it all works out. i'm really glad you're in!!! have a great evening abe. steven

That would be wonderful Steven, link me up.

Thank you, Steven; I will hope to have a go! So pleased you enjoyed the tribute to Aeronwy Thomas. I attended one of her poetry workshops last summer in laugharne, near the Boat House - very special!

hello caroline, thanks for joining in. i was truly fascinated by aeronwy's life story. it surely deserves to be spread far and wide!!!! it's intriguing to me that she waited to read her father's work. i "get" that but her restraint is admirable. have a lovely evening. steven

Hi Steven

since I read your suggestion yesterday I have been mulling it over...I plan to join in the fun but am having trouble isolating one transformative moment...so will be interested myse-elf in what foments...

Happy days

steven said...

oh delwyn, i'm tickled that you'll write for this. i know exactly what you mean. when i posted it i thought - well even before i posted it - what can i choose because as abe said in his comment just above this, each moment is transformative in a well-lived life. how to choose one that is somehow more valuable? let the moment present itself. no one will be judging!!!! have a lovely late winter's day. steven

Definitely count me in Steven. I've booked a reminder in my itouch.

And who knows, maybe reading all the comments you'll be getting might prove transformative in itself.

hi barry - good news!! i'm glad, you know the comments are as fascinating to me as the posts in many of the blogs i visit. thanks for joining the meme and have a peaceful afternoon. steven
