even nature gives you no choice

even nature gives you no choice

when you have seen a cloud
in the lap of a pond;
and the moon
between the waterlilies;
inevitably you are at the mercy
of your own soul.

If only whatever in me recognizes such beauty could whip up as much appreciation for a cold November rain! These are such beautiful photographs, capturing the micro in the macro.

Nature - the gift that keeps on giving!

Red branches? Beauty! Mother nature sure keeps you busy.
And I, like Pauline, wish I could find appreciation for the weather that I stare at everyday. For now, I settle my soul in long shadows and early sunsets.
Just yesterday I was wondering, Steven, what kinds of things you post in Spring?! But I will wait. I will wait and continue to enjoy the evolution into your approaching winter.

I'll have to think about that. May my soul be merciful!

Nature gives you no choice but to adore her.

There is certainly "soul" in those pictures steven. Have a good day.

Lovely poem and pretty shots; the second one looks like strands of wool.

hello pauline - it's ferrrrwosty in the morning and again at night. my bike rides are as much about heat retention as they are about safety as they are about looking around me to enjoy the ride. but i can always find time for the beauty. steven

jenny - i took these photos with an old 8 mp camera so the clarity just isn't there. however. they are red branches. spring is a funny time because there are false starts around here when the sun finally shows and the snow finally goes - and then returns and there's an awful lot of psychology that goes with the whole management of the "it's gone . . . .nope it's back" feelings. right now there's the dwindling daylight. it'll get shorter and shorter. that's a toughy. i'll post photographs of winter that'll show the amazing beauty that is hidden in tiny and sometimes entire field's and skies and woodlands and wetlands filled with astonishing beauty. thanks for coming along for the journey. steven

a good soul absorbs the beauty that is tucked away in the tiniest most unlikely little places and shares it as goodness with others. i've seen you do that friko!!!!!! steven

thankyou alaine - i wish i had my better camera there for the precise detail and colour that my eyes saw but it does carry the essence of wool in its entanglement. steven

These photos are amazing, Steven! Maroon brambles over a turquoise brook! And to see this is to awaken your soul, feel genuinely happy. Your title and the poem tell us we need to embrace nature every day and experience that intense joy. Not too much to ask!
