john encinias

i came across the work of john encinias - a featured artist at the national cowboy museum. not a place i'd usually find myself but have a look at his work and you'll see that it was a very worthwhile shot-in-the-dark visit.

you can view more of john's work here.

I can definitely see you as a cowboy (at least for a day or two) ... (but not a cowboy at a museum) ... certainly can visualize you in full regalia with chaps and all -- how about riding one of our 'wild' broncos at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo? :) You'd have a blast, Steven! (Certainly in your observations of all the other 'cowboys' there, not necessarily in the ride itself.)

Why do I say that? Well, because of your Kansas experience, of course!

I had to Google that museum to find out where it actually is. Oklahoma City? Hmmph! There's something over near New Braunfels, here in Texas. Thought that might have been it, but it's not.

i'd have to overcome my fear of horses first! when i was a little english boy i had a cowboy outfit - and an invisible friend named "cowboy". there's all my cowboy experience wrapped up very neatly!!!!
