These are great pix, Steven. The Astronomy Picture of the Day site has been showing some wonderful ones, as well. Did you happen to catch today's, where they're talking about HR8799: Discovery of a Multi planet Star System? Neat!

thanks for the heads-up goldenrod! i headed right over and read the text and looked at the pic. i think it would be amazing to make contact with other sentient beings from such a planetary system (assuming they exist) but then what? that's the part i can't really push beyond the first awkward "hi - we come in peace - how 'bout you?"

Ditto, Steven. I have always thought that there were other 'beings' "out there" ... ... I've been trying, for about a week now, to get my thoughts & notes together for a post (what will probably be the most convoluted EVER!!) on God, religion, and 'intelligent design', but this latest Astronomy pic threw an added kink into my thinking! Help!!

Hey! BTW, did you find that recipe site OK? (Brand new topic for those of you who don't have the vaguest idea what I'm talking about.)

A "heffalump" of a post ... fantabulous word, but I don't think you can take credit for 'coining it', Steven ... who the devil was it, anyway - Dr. Seuss? Ogden Nash? - whomever, it's a great word!

Just wanted to say that my upcoming post will NOT be of tome-length. Just more of my "Personal thoughts/comments" type of stuff.

I was inspired for it by a quote, and then got to thinking even more about the quote, and you know how my mind works, Steven - all over the darned stratosphere sometimes, it seems!

One of the reasons it's taken me so long to gather all of my notes and thoughts together to try and write and publish this particular post is because of my reticence in labeling ANY of my posts "Religion." (There've been only five thus far.)

As always, S, I very much appreciate your encouraging thoughts, comments, and responses. Will shortly be on my way over to Kroger's - looking for chili ingredients in addition to the 'breakfast sausage' that the lady in charge of ordering for Kroger's promised me. More later!
