each form of beauty's but the new disguise
of thoughts more beautiful than forms can be:
sceptics, who search with unanointed eyes,
never the earth's wild fairy-dance shall see.

gorgeous colors and photos, perfect celebration of the seasons beauty.
Love the final photograph. For me that just sums up autumn so succinctly.
A simply beautiful combo of words and images Steven. Have to check out Madison Cawein! Thanks
The second picture - it looks like the leaf is whispering to the rock.
Those colors are amazing!! I can't believe it. It makes me want to cry. I always thought that when leaves changed they did just that...the green became the other colors. (Guess I wasn't paying attention in school.) Then I actually learned the green chlorophyll is being pulled back to the heart of the tree and the colors we see are always there...they are being revealed. I like that same idea for us human. If we could just pull back that top layer we could reveal so much more of our beauty that is underneath.
Thank you for the awesome photos.
hello tammie lee, thankyou very much! it's all right there . . . all i have to do is capture and share the moment. steven
hello dunkerswick and welcome to the golden fish!!! have a peaceful day. steven
thankyou bonnie. have a lovely day. steven
hello golden west - there's something being shared there. when i saw them close to each other i liked the colourful brittleness of the leaf and the hard softness of the rock. there was something in that contact. i'm really glad you saw that!! have a lovely day out there. steven
and that jenny stevning is a large part of why i have put so many autumn picture up here. all and everything contains beauty. there's surface beauty which takes care of fleeting contact. it's mirrored in people as personality, body. you can carry off a relationship of sorts with almost anything (or anyone) if that's what you're willing to settle for.
and then there's essence. the riches beneath the surface. they carry us through to the true presence inside all and everything and everyone. i am so delighted that you saw that because it makes all of this worthwhile!!!! have a peaceful day. steven
The colours and textures are just stunning, steven! Beautiful work. The pictures are a visual feast!
Best Halloween treat ever...thanks!
The "wild fairy dance" is everywhere, if we slow down to observe. I love this poem and its challenge to the skeptic. Not that we should never be skeptical, but if we are an honest skeptic, then we at time need to be skeptical of our skepticism, and sometimes simply receive the quiet gifts that are beyond analysis.
A balmy autumn evening is the perfect time to get out and dance under the moon!

First time here.
