Mother's Day

on this day - mother's day in north america -

i honour my mother

no more than i usually do

of course

i have a deep respect for my mother

i have deep admiration for my mother

she was difficult

when i needed a "difficult" mother

but didn't know it

she was

easy going

when i needed

easy going

she was 

(and very much still is)

loving -

without condition

i'm deeply grateful for her

and for all that she has done 

(and continues to do)

to make this world a better place
