two reasons to get up in the morning

i have many reasons to wake up in the morning here are two of my favourites . . . dawson. my hilarious, sweet, wannabe rockstar, girl magnet and definitely cool beyond any cool you've experienced. dawson, who is at that tender age where his hormones rule his mind such that he believes he really does know it all. all-in-all a beautiful boy!!

lexie (alexia), my tiny girl who has a fire burning inside her that leaves me gobsmacked. nothing is done in half-measures. when she goes to bed there is nothing left in the tank.

these two are twenty two months apart. when they were very little there were many who thought they were twins. now they are night and day in every way but have a deep and honest love for each other which is probably a good thing because i expect that dawson is going to need his sister to help him out more than she can imagine when they grow up and leave home!!

i always love deeply. i have no choice in that matter. but the depths of love i feel for these two people - well - i know you know!!

hey, happy father's day to all the dad's who drop by today. i don't care much for "days". mums deserve to be celebrated every day and so do dads but it's nice to give my kids an excuse to make a me a nice card!

Happy fathers' day Steven

It's not that day here so you can have all the wishes your way...

You have two wonderful children - they must have a beautiful mother - and you too of course did add a little something there....
How old are the children - ley me guess, Dawson perhaps 13 and Lexie then would be 11 ?

Happy Days

hi delwyn, thankyou for your kind words. they actually do have a beautiful mother. an amazing strong lovely person.
you were very close on my kid's ages: dawson is fourteen and lexie is twelve. both will die a thousand deaths when they see i put them on this blog but hey . . . they know it's just who i am!!! have a peaceful day steven

Happy Father's Day, Steven. Your children look so much alike! It's easy to see how they might have been thought of as twins when they were younger. Enjoy being pampered today. Is there a special outing planned?

hi goldenrod!! a special outing? yes. to cut the grass, vacuum the pool, weed the flower beds and then collapse onto a lawnchair, assuming that one of my younger iterations isn't already sitting in it!!! have a peaceful day. steven

hi willow, thankyou very much! i've been really fortunate to have these two people in my life. they're as challenging as rewarding as any two people can be. most important of all for me though is that they know how to love. steven

hi beth, thankyou for the lovely compliment! i know it's probably obvious but i'm always relieved in a strange sort of way when i hear that i'm not the only one suffering/dealing with/enjoying the difference between my two children and especially the whole hormone thing. there are days when i am sure you think you're the only one suffering to the degree you are!!!!!
i remember being exactly the same and driving my parents - especially my poor mother - to despair and i think i've worked out alright!! it's all about patience and trusting the process. thanks for visiting. steven
