michelle blade: events unfolding

i came across michelle’s work when she was one of the featured artists on tiny showcase - official supplier of very reasonably priced exquisite and lovely limited edition prints to golden fish world headquarters.

michelle blade, born in l.a. works out of san francisco . . . her artwork makes me feel like i’m moving into the scene - or like the event unfolding in the art is moving towards me. words like singularity and multiplicity come to mind when i think of the dynamic qualities of her work. moving from whole to part and back to whole.

there’s a spiritual - i would have said religious but it doesn’t fit here - quality to her work that comes from the still, reverential feeling of the clusters of people engaged in some sort of transformative moment or statement or act. the people - the little, tiny, almost inconsequential people watching these events - are always there - like little referent points to our own viewing of the vast event of the art itself.

we were witnessed

her blog makes for interesting reading - especially if you are among the privileged californians able to visit the events she cites.

a ten questions which give you an insight into the mind of the interviewer more than that of the respondent kind of interview is here . . . if you wish>.
