when what hugs stopping earth than silent

i was wandering through
my summer photo folders
hmmmming and oh yeahing
as i saw the skies
and especially all the clouds.

the way-up-there meetings.

i came across some photographs
of two little clouds.
i remember them
well
because they disappeared shortly afterwards.

which got me thinking
and looking
and
lo and behold
there were some words.
wrapped.
in a hug of skin
no less complex than that which wraps 'round my own body -
and no less fragile.

i found myself starstruck by
the gossamer threads of knowing
braided
in this incredible poem
by
e.e. cummings.

)when what hugs stopping earth than silent is
more silent than more than much more is or
total sun oceaning than any this
tear jumping from each most least eye of star

and without was if minus and shall be
immeasurable happenless unnow
shuts more than open could that every tree
or than all life more death begins to grow

end's ending then these dolls of joy and grief
these recent memories of future dream
these perhaps who have lost their shadows if
which did not do the losing spectres mime

until out of merely not nothing comes
only one snowflake (and we speak our names

true colours

an early morning arising after an evening of rain . . . . down through the garden to see what has been happening . . . .

i saw this beautiful flower - spiderwort - down by our pool and while i've had big issues with the spiderwort, which has grand ambitions for my garden that don't quite match those of my own, i was taken by the words frail azures that floated unbidden into my mind . . .

from my favourite ee cummings poem . . .

this is the garden: colours come and go

this is the garden: colours come and go,
frail azures fluttering from night's outer wing
strong silent greens serenely lingering,
absolute lights like baths of golden snow.
this is the garden:pursed lips do blow
upon cool flutes within wide glooms, and sing
(of harps celestial to the quivering string)
invisible faces hauntingly and slow.

these are a few of my garden's absolute lights . . . . ( click on the images to fill your screen)!
