i had an uncanny moment yesterday of viewing all of us, all of we human beings (actually seeing this), as only animals moving over the face of the earth. i can't help but read this piece in terms of our relentless consumption even though i think you mean it otherwise.
why is it that we long to be something other than we are? is this is the source of art, to raise us up above our human condition? if we are only animals scouring the earth then why do i long for us to shine? there is something more that i, of course, do not understand...
