sea-marsh

beautiful-braided and woven
virginal shy lights
beautiful glooms
like a lane into heaven that leads from a dream
by a world of marsh that borders a world of sea

words excerpted from "the marshes of glynn" by sidney lanier

  1. In black and white, too. Captures something more of the mystery of the marshes. Thanks, Steven.

  2. Yes, even in monochrome you can see the subtleties of this landscape. I like the terms braided and woven for the reedy grassy shapes.

  3. LOVE the marsh, there are squishy surprises and sometimes a total slip into soggy unstable ground. It's fun, if you have the right foot gear and high tides. Marshes are gentle, like you photos, and, of course, like some people.
