not a breath

snow clouds in the sky

not a breath of wind moves
in the winter woods

through the trees
a doorway

blending with the air
i pass through

into a hushed

reverent
place

where treasures
in the form of
water, snow
and dried leaves

form the currency
of a world
caught
within this world

  1. Everything in life is a reflection of something else... I see so much of my own life in all of nature.

All the best treasures are camouflaged in the places we least expect them to be.

Are you taking all these gorgeous photos?

  8. It reminds me of my concerns -- where a doe goes to give birth?

In this day and age such places are not easy to find -- food, water, shelter.

  10. In these black. white and gray days of winter, amazing, upon looking closely, how much color is in your pictures. The last is my favorite - mossy green, orange, ocher, burnt sienna, pure white - so many colors on your artist's palette.

  12. I cannot for the life of me decide whether it was the images or the words that took my breath away for a moment in time. Perhaps both.

  19. hi abe, happily in my area there's a substantial amount of green space - fields, woodlands and natural areas preserved and protected - deer, coyotes, wolves, bears, rabbits, squirrels . . . well you know the ecology of the eastern woodlands - it all finds a place. steven
