elisabeth it surprises me that i've taught so many students until i think about all that i've learned from them and that it seems more reasonable. i get to teach six more classes and then my work changes. steven
How i recall those road signs and that feeling. Each year I wonderd if I could still teach ... and then you are in there and the vibes take over. Your students are privileged to have such a creative teacher.
Am off to Ireland for a week, but will look in on my return.
Have a great year! I'm in it now, too, tomorrow is my second day. Start-up is always crazy in college cause kids want to switch in or out - they're shopping for the best class, makes things chaotic!
Much inspiration to you... I'm not too far behind with about 20 years teaching, 17 at this job... its quite something to think of ALL those students, their dreams and hard work and challenges... yes, something!
aguja - you're so lucky to be heading off to ireland! i love heading back into the classroom. it's the biggest surprise each year and then every day!!! steven
valerianna - it really is something to think about all the students. their lives, their families - many of mine are married, working, at university, or still making their way through high -school of course. steven
jo - what a great question. hard to measure - even harder to answer. they seem to come out with a different view of the world. many of them have succeeded right before my very eyes and many more have succeeded later. success of course being for me as simple as becoming more of who they are!!! steven
hope - if it was allowed i'd share the stories of each of my kids. you'd be amazed and shocked and feel all the emotions it is ever possible to feel. i do. steven
How is that even possible- You began teaching when you were five???
ReplyDeleteI have high regards with teachers!
