cloud mothers

the sky is softening

there's a thickness to the light

closer to the ground

ice gathers
into hovering lace sheets
that melt into songs
and poems
telling the stories of their
cloud mothers

  5. shaista!! hello! i see brian's perspctive while walking through, seeing, hearing, smelling and feeling the very much still-present presence of winter! it'll be weeks or even a month or so before any green makes its presence felt here. i'm alright with that! steven

  9. Yes, the cloud mothers making lace to spread out on the ground...how perfect.

I have the image of my aunt and mother sitting together "tatting" lace when I was a child. It looked very like the delicate ice in your photos.
