scarfed

i love getting mail

real mail

a soft parcel
sealed
with lots of clear tape
and colour splashed
with foreign stamps

the other day
i opened my mail box and inside
was just such a parcel

can you imagine?

it was from france!
i have never received anything from france!
what is it . . . what could it be?

cutting a thin sliver off the end of the package i pulled out a scarf and a card
and it was from . . . .



so thankyou nancy!!!


so very thankyou!!!!!

for the excitement, for the beautiful hand made scarf, for the gorgeous card
and especially for the soft parcel that came all the way from france!!

    I can't imagine anything cooler! Nancy is my favorite geneticist. She was here once. We had lunch at the National Gallery. How wonderful that she made a scarf for you. Very cool!

    linda sue - that's one very small part of the body of the black cherry tree that grows in front of my home. i love the tree - no really i do! i love the colours of this scarf also! steven

    in north american kid vernacular "scarfed" describes the process of eating something really quickly!! but i thought i'd make it a verb describing the gifting of a scarf instead! very lucky me! steven

    nancy - the feeling of the yarn is the best part yes! the colours in the wool would be the next best part. i love those colours so much! thankyou. i layed it out on the snow to show it off in its new canadian environment. steven

    The post title intrigued me as I live in scarves of varying hues and textures, so appreciated the feeling of and the anticipation of opening the soft 'maybe' parcel. But how satisfyingly rewarding was the content, in which I am sure you now snuggle, especially as it was made for you.

    hi aguja - scarves - especially women's scarves, are so beautiful. i really like wool a lot, especially when there are different hues and shapes inside the piece. yes, i'm so lucky to have something made for me! steven

    Oh my goodness, I am turning all shades of green with envy and jealousy. I am a scarf nut! Hardly does a day pass that I don't have some scarf wrapped around my neck.

    I can see why all the excitement, it is GORGEOUS!!! I love the colors...and oh my oh my, from France, can't beat that.

    linda- the textures and the colours. having the sun we've had recently has been spectacular hasn't it. mixed in with the usual grey scale of winter of course! i have been really fortunate to enjoy a strong immune system but i try and stay fit throught he winter - mentally and physically - because i think that's a large part of the battle. oh and fruit and vitamins and good microbrewed beer and the occasional red wine!! steven
