whenever i forget what this is all about
and get caught up
in the apparently significant
i find the words
or a place
that remind me
of the very simple and the very complex
all at once
God picks up the reed-flute world and blows
each note is a need coming through one of us
a passion, a longing-pain
remember the lips
where the wind-breath originated
and let your note be clear
jelaluddin rumi
It's a turning back, to the original sound.
ReplyDeleteWorking on it, Steven. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLet your note be clear indeed.
ReplyDeleteSo cool. So heartening. What is, is- allowing your note to be clear through it all is the deal! Thanks Steven !
ReplyDeleteWonderful image and thoughts. I love God's music.
ReplyDeleteSteven - this is the first time that I have visited your blog site though I have often read and enjoyed the comments you've made on Friko's World. Friko is a dear special blogging friend of mine too. I like the fresh, simplicity of what you write.
ReplyDeleteall we need is to stay still to hear it.
ReplyDeletewhatever anyone may say, at a party or anywhere else,
don't let them discourage you. Fools always find something to amuse them, it doesn't take much. Anything of value is beyond them.
you and Rumi - what a pair! Your new header photo is spectacular :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Steven. Simple can be so very significant.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful choice of words and poetry. Thank you.
Ah that Rumi--there's no clearer voice than his. Lovely post Steven. And yet another stunning header photo. Beauty!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a Rumi poem... wow. Amazing, thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnd the little window above is also a gem. We're in the line of a big nor' easter tonight and tomorrow. Time to stock up the wood bin, fill bird feeders and cook something easily heated on the woodstove should the power go out.... wonder if you're in for it, too?
