inner glow

today i have seen
the charm, the beauty,
the unfathomable grace
of the face
that i was looking for.

i am bewildered by the magnificence
of your beauty
and wish to see you with a hundred eyes.

my heart has burned with passion
and has searched forever
for this wondrous beauty
that I now behold.

your fragrant breath
like the morning breeze
has come to the stillness of the garden

your effulgence
has lit a fire in my heart
and you have made radiant
for me
the earth and sky.

  1. I have come to love this poem. The glow in this rose is remarkable, and worthy of Rumi's transcendant words. Thank you.

  3. The glow in the camellia is remarkable - I've seen calla lilies with that same quality. Always a pleasure to start my early mornings with a visit here, Steven.

  4. And with a last parting glance at the flower, I see it is indeed a rose and not a camellia - I had wondered how yours were blooming this soon and mine still just buds! Mystery solved.

  7. This is a truly loving poem. It speaks of a love so unlike the trite love in movies and stories.

  8. Oh I love that kind of shot! I have one I took in early morning of a Morning Glory and it looks as if it's lit within!

    Happy weekend to you!
