an early spring snow

an early spring snow!
strange to think
that i've been waiting all winter
for its soft white kiss

an early morning
gift
a walk down a little stream

allows me to reflect
on reflections

to see the light-rippled
dance
of water

free to flow

and to be grateful
for so much

  1. "free to flow and to be grateful for so much."

Isn't that so? How the feeling of gratitude comes from a liquid moving heart that flows. When gratitude or generosity or love in any of its forms is blocked we feel frozen.

I hope the resumption of school Monday goes swimmingly, and that your love flows freely outward to everyone you meet.

  2. Hi Steven
as I read your delightful post I thought - the less we have the more we have to be grateful for...does that make sense to you...
    I think so...

    Happy reflecting days

  3. thankyou dan. i'm putting the bicycle back on the road today to return to two-wheeled commuting. through the winter i get a lift in to school and then walk home. i'll miss the walks, saving them for the weekend. i'm hoping that the good energy that returned through the march break will carry through myself and my students. steven

  6. I started a comment earlier and was distracted. We have visitors from Germany and my time is not my own, still I wanted as ever to comment on the thaw, as revealed here. Great stuff, Steven.

  7. I so enjoy your reflections steven - in every form offered. They mirror, inform, inspire and always evoke that most healing of feelings - gratitude.
