in the air

in the air
in the morning

"your prayers are your light;
your devotion is your strength;
sleep is the enemy of both.
your life is the only opportunity that life can give you.
if you ignore it, if you waste it,
you will only turn to dust."

in the air
in the evening

living with fullness
in-between.

  1. What a rare looking cloud; as if someone's scarf has taken off!

  2. Do I detect more warmth in the atmosphere?

    What's that saying, Steven?

    'Pink sky at night Shepherd's delight.'

  3. alaine - it does lok like a scarf flung through the air or caught by a breeze. i found that i'd been looking downwards and in front of me a lot. probably to avoid slipping on icy patches, but also to catch whatever's happening at ground-level. the last few days i've been looking upwards. the paths are clear of ice so it's safe. it's also rewarding!! steven

  4. the skies are definitely changing elisabeth. the sun rises earlier and sets later. the air temperature is hovering around the mid-teens below zero most days but there's more moisture in the air than there has been for a little while. the glorious picture in the header is something that becomes available later and later in the evening and with different colours. have a peaceful day. steven

  5. The cloud is the tree's speech bubble.

    The tree's trying to tell us, "Be more level-headed, humans!"

  6. Very different clouds. I like the top one.

    About influence on my blog...

    I remember the first time I walked in Patty's home when I just started to date her. The whole family were there to see/meet me/Abraham Lincoln.

    On the sofa, after I had said my hellos, sat a 10-years old, "Sonny," and he was drawing a mouse and I asked, "Mickey?" He sheepishly nodded in the affirmative.

    I bent over -- he gave me his pencil and paper and I quickly drew the circle that makes Mickey Mouse's familiar face. He was ten.

    He went on to go to college to be:
    A Teacher. An Art Teacher.

    He has retired and influenced many others. And he still does artwork of all kinds and is an artistic person.

    I had a lot of influence on my students. A couple of them went on to open a sign shop (calligraphy and handwriting?) and are about to retire and close down. The sign shop has put all their children through Ohio State University.

    We never know.

  7. That first cloud looks like a Tibetan healing symbol I use a lot. So beautiful.

    Morning sky, evening sky. Looking at first one then the other, my heart is filled with a sweet feeling of completion.

    Thanks, Steven.

  8. Beautiful imagery but I have to confess to being a believer in a good nights sleep, and an afternoon nap come to that!

  17. reya - the opening and closing of a day is so important. to be aware of the moment when you engage the day and think yourself into what you'll bring to it and give . . . well that's a feature of each of my mornings. i'd love to see the tibetan healing symbol you mention.steven
