the hope

this is what i know:

this fragile neural tracery
carries the sputtering arcs
of spring's promise
as surely
as i carry the hope

  1. Those tiny buds, the rounded edges of each wiry branch are filled with that hope, Steven. It can't be far now. As my daughter reminds me, here in Australia, it's the last day of summer. For you, the last day of winter.

  9. Except for the maple trees, it's all still dormant here. Buds are swelling but no spring green yet.

  18. How sad life is when we plod through it without hope. I carry some with me every day - hope of spring, of peace, of a day in which I make someone feel appreciated.
