i saw the sun
setting
its rays
flying upwards
in a rose-coloured plume
so i ran
to the edge of the fields
where the last petals of light
kissed the sky
the air was thin and cold
the trees
tall and silent
the fence line
hummed
across the fields
i heard
"i promise i'll return"
Sumptuous sunset photography! Thanks!

ReplyDeletehello dan - i live about one hundred metres from the edge of a farmer's field that i like to walk in. the view is superb across a huge pond, some distant woods and then hills. i like to watch sunsets there. the colours are heart-filling, especially at this time of year when colour is reduced to the grey scale. have a lovely last day of this year! steven
ReplyDeletehello jenny - i heard those words in my head as i took the photographs. i couldn't place the voice so i just listened. have a peaceful last day of this year. steven
